Today we’re going to talk about how to increase your blood oxygen levels. When you breathe in, oxygen goes down to the lungs and is absorbed into the capillaries, exchanging oxygen for carbon dioxide.
As you breathe out, you’re getting rid of CO2, and when you breathe in, you’re getting oxygen. There are certain oxygen binding proteins in the red blood cells that are then carried around to the tissues and released.
When your oxygen is low in the blood, that’s called hypoxemia. There is a really simple test called a pulse oximeter that can measure the oxygen in your blood. It can also measure your pulse rate.
A normal reading would be between 95 and 100. If you get below 92, there could be a problem.
A few causes of low oxygen in the blood:
• Post COVID-19
• Carbon monoxide
• High altitudes
• COPD
• Emphysema
• Asthma
• Bronchitis
• Pneumonia
• Sleep apnea
3 big symptoms of low oxygen in the blood:
1. Shortness of breath
2. Rapid breathing
3. Fast pulse rate
A few natural remedies to help increase your blood oxygen levels:
• Zinc
• Vitamin E (tocotrienols)
• Lipoic acid
• Vitamin D3
• Vitamin B12
You may want to take these one at a time to help identify what you’re deficient in.
